Where's the Respect, Officers?

As a lot may know (if you don't know, you will know after you read this post) there is occupations occurring around the globe. It started out with Occupy Wall Street, with a lot of protesters advocating against Crony Capitalism and speaking out that they are through being the 99%. and that the 1% (which are the wealthiest people that include corporations) need to stop robbing the hard working people.

This isn't just going on in New York City, but nation wide. Now, you would think that these Non-Violent Civil Protesters would be left alone to exercise their First Amendment Right (Rights to Assemble) That is not the case in these protests. Police Officers and Armed forces have made arrest and caused chaos more than the protesters have caused them selves.

In Occupy Tucson, protesters gather up at that occupation spot in Armory Park. Officers would return to the park at 10:30 P.M and give criminal citations to those occupants who refused to leave the public land. Of course those who were Cited were coming back to show that the community united, can never be divided.

If people think that is bad, here is the case of Occupy Oakland, California where Police Officers abused their power and attacked unarmed Protesters. What is streaming across the news is the case of Scott Olsen. Scott Olsen is a Veteran who was injured at the Occupy Oakland protest. Officers launched tear gas, and fired rubber bullets at the unarmed protesters. Where is the honor in that? Why honor those who attack unarmed non-violent protesters? Where is the respect for our Veteran Scott Olsen? There is no respect for officers who use their power to turn a peaceful occupation into their own personal war zone.

Rest In Power Judy Burns

School Board Member of Tucson Unified School District Judy Burns, died last night of a heart attack. Judy Burns understood the power of the youth and the fight for their Education. This is a big loss for those who knew Judy. Judy Burns was one of the few brave supporters fighting against the injustices in the school district.(TUSD)

Judy Burns voted against the Turnaround Model for Rincon High School and Palo Verde High School. Burns also advocated against turning the Ethnic Studies classes into electives. Burns was not afraid to step up and speak when she knew something was wrong. Her heart and mind were in the right place and she was equal when it came to letting others speak. Judy Burns was not afraid to raise her fist for revolution and for education.

As a member of UNIDOS I would like to thank Judy Burns for listening and standing up for what was right. She was so powerful and had so much strength. We will miss her and never forget. FIST UP FOR JUDY BURNS!

Apologies to La Raza

Current State Superintendent John Huppenthal will be at the Fox Theater today and so will protestors.

Huppenthal who ran his campaign vowing to "Stop La Raza" declared The Mexican-American Classes in violation of (A.R.S.) § 15-112) -HB 2281on June 15 2011. According to the $175K audits, the cirricuum was in no way violating the law, in fact they saw that the classes were positive and did not advocate to overthrow the United States Government. Huppenthal found the classes in violations and in compliance with HB 2281.

Not only did Huppenthal run a racist campaign, but he committed a class 6 fellony. Acording to Article 38-423, acording to public officers:
"A public officer authorized by law to make or give any certificate or other writing, who makes and delivers as true such a certificate or writing containing a statement which he knows is false, is guilty of a class 6 felony"?
Now why is Huppenthal still our superintendent, and why hasn't he apologized for harming teachers, students, and the community in which he should advocate for higher education? Why should we welcome him? When he doesn't welcome Education, especially not the Mexican American Studies classes?

Occupy Comments

 I'm following the trail of Occupy Wall Street, not only is there an occupy here in Tucson (which I will be live blogging) But because it's on the news, and everyone is talking about it. I read the article 'Occupy' simple to stop and I commented with this bellow.

"In my opinion what people are doing out on Wall Street takes a lot of strength and courage. Not just to go out there, but continuing for such a long time. A lot of people may not agree with what they are doing and many people probably think they are not intelligent. No matter what any sort of boycott or occupation will be criticized. Sometimes taking it into their own hands is the only option they have. There is so many people making money from robbing others from the very little they have. Wall Street being one of the biggest."

iCapitalist?

On October 5, 2011 America lost one of the most revolutionary man in technology; Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs, the inventor of the iMac and iTouch passed away leaving behind a legacy.If we were to ask people on the street, we would get just that. Sir Steve Jobs left his prints on technology, our hearts and our lives.

But, did Steve Jobs just leave his revolutionary character behind or did he do more to those who helped make his products a success? Few know about Steve Jobs' and the harsh person he could be.

"Can anyone tell me what MobileMe is supposed to do?" Having received a satisfactory answer, he continued, "So why the fuck doesn't it do that?" out of What Everyone is Too Polite To Say About Steve Jobs post.

"You've tarnished Apple's reputation," he told them. "You should hate each other for having let each other down."

Or do people know what the condition that the working, underpaid citizens of his factory was like? [refer to What Everyone Ia Too Polite To Say About Steve Jobs]

If anyone is aware of what Capitalism is, here is the definition:

"an economic system in which investment in and ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange of wealth is made and maintained chiefly by private individuals or corporations, especially as contrasted to cooperatively or state-owned means of wealth."

Now I ask you to read Steve Jobs, billionaire capitalist and think: Is it possible for anyone to become as wealthy as Steve Jobs, without the use of capitalism. Think about it in the point of Technology. Does his revolution inventions justify his harsh character and abused workers?

Real Steel

I was reading Movie reviews for an assignment and the best sight I could find with decent sized reviews was Seven Days. I was looking through trying to find a review of a movie I already watched. Then, I thought It would be better to read a review about a movie I haven't seen, maybe it will spark some interest.

I read a review about Reel Steel by Margot Harrison. The review gave a pretty simple explanation but I was still confused. The writer of this review states their point of view but there isn't quite a balance. I read more of a point of view than the movie it self. The writer does compare the Movie with other movies and dilemmas.The review had no "snark" to it. I got that they enjoyed the movie but it wasn't revolutionary in any way.

Penny for Your Thoughts?

Have you ever thought how bloggers made money, or if they made money at all? Or if blogging was a good way to have money coming in by just voicing your thoughts or writing a couple posts related to an event? Keep in mind there may be different types of blogging. Some blogs are used to just interact with people but some blogs are actually used for making money.

There are blogs that are used for selling or advertising a product or products. For example if you visit Mom Review Blog you will see that there are many products being advertise. The writer or writers in this blog make money by reviewing them or referring you to a link to purchase a product. Usually by clicking on the link to buy the product, the blogger gets paid for it.They don't get paid the amount that the product costs but a percentage of it. Blog posters may even sell their own product, which can make them earn more money depending on how well their sale goes.

Ads in blogs are also a way bloggers make money. If you see advertisement for other websites or stores in the blog page, they blogger was paid by the owners or the advertisers to have their ads placed there. That doesn't necessary mean the blogger recommends the product or the website, it's a way to earn some cash.
Blogs that use any of the two options above get paid for it. Keep in mind whether you can trust the links, the product or the reason why are reccomending the product or advertising a website.

Blogs like Three Sonorans are unpaid blogs, which means that no sort of money comes in. The blog (or blogs) have options of donation. Therefore anything donated goes strait to the blogger, but that doesn't mean everyday people donate money to the blogger. In cases like these the blog owner relies on some other sort of income.

In conclusion, blogging can be used to interact with people or for income purposes. This blog, is the kind whose purpose is to interact and inform readers. :)
