I feel like this is very self explanatory on what's going on with Social Security. This stuck out to me because I find this quite funny and very true, because it is time to target those like Rick Perry. Rick Perry targets Social Security, then citizens target you. In my opinion I can see the elderly man as a hero in this cartoon, because he know's what is going on and well, of course, he is not too happy about it. What is a democrat, what is the definition and does Ex-Board President Stegeman deserve the right to call himself a democrat?
Dem-o-crat (n): a person who believes in and practices the principle of equality of rights, opportunity, and treatment.
Stegeman categorizes himself as a democrat, but his actions have not been at all democratic. Unlike Michael Hicks (who is a member of the Tucson Unified School Districts Governing Board) who expresses his conservative views, Stegeman hides them. Instead of trying to preserve the Mexican American Studies program he chooses to find ways to destroy them. Not only is he: Violating international human rights but he is dismantling a successful program. A true democrat would see that the preservation of a class that teaches cultural history, and boosts up the graduation rate, is a good idea. Not only that but realizes that it’s education and that as a democrat, he takes in mind what the students want. Yes, students because it is their school district and their education.Mark Stegeman is now being shunned by other democrats for the approaches he has taken against the Latino community and his failed leadership.
